Biography of Thorsten Schulz

He was born on October 23, 1981 in Rostock, right at the northeastern coast of Germany. In 1998 he attended the Kelmscott Senior High School, Perth Western Australia as an exchange student. Thorsten graduated at the "Specialschool for maths, sciences and technics" in Rostock in 2001. He received acknowledgement for excellent results in physics from the German Physics Association.

In 2002 Thorsten became student of Electrical Engineering at the University of Rostock. After his prediploma he decided to specialize and focus his studies at the Institute for Applied Microelectronics and Computer Architecture. From 2004 to 2005 he was a permanent lab member in the research group for Robotics, Neuronal Networks and Embedded Systems [http://robocup.e-etechnik.uni-rostock.de].

He joined the research group of Prof. Talke in 2005. As part of his German degree he takes classes at UCSD and will be involved in a research project on control systems.

Outside of school Thorsten likes sport such as sailing (competition http://ger783.de and kids trainer), surfing and loves his motorbike http://tt600s.de/html/body_thorsten.html.
