Sebastian Helm is a visiting student in Prof. Talke`s lab for the academic year 2008/2009. Sebastian is here on a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). In 2005, he joined the mechanical engineering program at the University of Rostock. In 2007 he passed his pre-diploma successfully, since then specializing in solid and fluid mechanics. Sebastian is currently working in the field of contact mechanics. During his stay at Prof. Talke’s laboratory, he analyses the creation of fretting wear at the dimple/gimbal interface experimentally using a macro wear tester. Outside of the lab, Sebastian enjoys soccer, American Football and surfing.
