Biography of Melanie Gauvin

Dr. Melanie Gauvin was born in France in 1982. She received her master degree in Physics from the Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon in 2005. She got her PhD degree in material science in 2008 from the Ecole Centrale de Lyon. Her thesis, entitled “In situ analytical approach of zinc phosphate anti-wear mechanism”, contributed to a fundamental understanding of pressure-induced effects on anti-wear additive atomic structure in boundary lubricated contacts. At the CMRR, Melanie will investigate carbonless overcoats. She enjoys jogging, scuba-diving and outdoors sports in general.
