From 1993 to 1995 Maik was an apprentice for technical drawing at BMW AG in Munich. He finished in 1995 and became a student for mechanical engineering at Rostock University. There he achieved his prediploma in 1997. Since November 1997 he earns a founding of the german foundation Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft.
After his prediploma he decided to
study "Advanced Mechanics". In Winter 1998/1999 he had an internship at
BOSCH GmbH in Stuttgart. He used this time to write a thesis about "Simulation
of Flexible Multibody Systems with SIMPACK and ADAMS".
