Professor Baojun Shi

 

Dr. Shi is a visiting scholar in Professor Talke's group at the UCSD from the Shandong Jianzhu University (SDJU), China (supported by a scholarship from the China Scholarship Council).
He received his PhD degrees in Engineering Mechanics from the Peking University, China and in Mechanical Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, respectively. He was a Research Fellow at NTU for two years. He is the author of about 100 journal publications. He has been the principal investigator of over 10 research projects, including those from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Dr. Shi accepted a position as a full professor at the School of Mechanical & Electronic Engineering, SDJU, effective 2002. Prof. Shi was awarded the Taishan Scholar Overseas Distinguished Professor by the Government of Shandong Province, China in 2010.
His research interests are in the areas of tribology, shock & vibration, computational mechanics, CAD/CAE, especially those related to magnetic recording technology.
