Biography of Eric Jayson
Eric was born in Detroit, MI on September 30th, 1972. He completed his B.S. in
Ocean/Mechanical engineering at Florida Atlantic University in May of 1999.
During the summer of 1999 he worked as intern at Quantum Corporation in
Shrewsbury, MA performing research on tension effects in tape drives. Eric
enrolled as a graduate student in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
department in September of 1999 in pursuit of a Ph. D. in Mechanical
Engineering.
Currently his research is a finite element model of a hard disk drive subject
to a shock impulse (such as being dropped). The project is sponsored by
Seagate. It utilizes Hypermesh as a pre- and post-processor and uses LS-Dyna3D
as the finite element solver.
