Aravind was born in Bangalore, India in 1977. He received his
Bachelors degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from BMS College of
Engineering in September 2000. He worked for six months as a
software consultant in India before he enrolled at the
University of California, San Diego in
Fall 2001. He has completed his M.S. and is working for a doctoral
(Ph.D) degree in the Mechanical and
Aerospace Engineering department.
He is affiliated with the
Center for Magnetic Recording
Research at UC San Diego. His advisor is
Prof. Frank Talke and his
area of research is "Investigation of Shock in hard disk drives and
Optimization for Shock".
Aravind has been a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the MAE department several times
and has been awarded the "Outstanding TA Award" two times
for the academic years:
2002

2003
- 2004.
